Hello, my name is Nicola Sykes, and I would like to give you an insight into my journey to finding neurofeedback therapy from NeurOptimal®.

I am a UK-based yoga teacher, mental health advocate, NeurOptimal® trainer, and loving mum to a ten-year old boy with autism.

He began showing signs of delays in speech and learning, challenging behaviour, and sensory processing issues at just two years old, resulting in a diagnosis of autism in May 2018. He was also later diagnosed with dyslexia, and we reached a point where the only treatment left to try was medication.

Not wanting to go down this route, I found neurofeedback therapy through other parents of autistic children and discovered that its brain-training benefits can enhance brain neuroplasticity alongside the central nervous system.

It is a non-invasive, drug-free treatment involving analysis and ‘feedback’ of brainwaves, and shows promising results with helping to treat conditions such as anxiety, ADHD, depression, and PTSD. My son’s incredible transformation and growth with NeurOptimal® mean that he has experienced dramatic shifts in his condition in ways that felt unmanageable prior to treatment, helping improve and optimise his overall wellness and school performance.

And as a working mother, I have also been able to successfully recover from burnout as a result of being overwhelmed both mentally and emotionally.
